New for 2023, we are excited to announce we are stocking AGT’s new Titan AX, the world’s first CoAXium® barley variety, along with InterGrain’s new Combat and Commodus CL varieties!

Our Barley seed is locally produced by Western Australia Farmers with generations of experience and knowledge. Our Barley seed is sourced from well-known seed breeders, including InterGrain, AGT and Seednet.

Sampled and laboratory tested

We offer the best quality Barley seed, laboratory tested and certified by Agwest in terms of purity and germination rates. Our Barley seed is sampled and tested by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) certified Laboratories in Western Australia including ChemCentre and Agrifood.

We offer a wide variety of Barley in stock ranging from Scope, La Trobe, Spartacus and Buff, to the newer varietes: Combat, Commodus CL and Titan AX. Either freshly straight from the farms or pre-treated from our Plant, we have large stock of Barley.

Experienced and professional service

Our trained and experience staff provide professional barley cleaning, grading and packaging for all your barley seed needs. Delivery is flexible. We can arrange to deliver either by bulk or in Bulka Bags should you require. Alternatively, you can come to check sample and test results before deciding to pick them up.

Key features:

  • The world’s first CoAXium® barley variety!
  • Derived from popular variety Compass.
  • Mid-season maturity, slightly later than Compass, similar to RGT Planet.
  • Agronomically very similar to Compass.
  • Tolerant to Aggressor® (Group 1) herbicide.
  • The highest yielding herbicide tolerant barley available.
  • Wide adaptation but particularly suited to low-medium rainfall or Mallee type environments.

Key features:

  • COMBAT has exceptional yield potential – Highest yielding barley variety in WA’s NVT in 2021, performing well across a range of different growing environments.
  • Rosalind replacement with an intermediate growth habit providing more early vigour than Rosalind.
  • Mid-maturing feed barley (longer than Rosalind maturity – closer to Scope CL).
  • Very good SFNB and NFNB resistance, useful leaf rust & powdery mildew resistance.
  • Semi-prostrate growth habit providing a higher level of early vigour, improving ground cover and weed competition.

  • Commodus CL is a high yielding, quick-mid maturing variety of barley
  • Agronomically similar to Compass and similar yield potential.
  • Ideally suited to lighter soils and medium-low rainfall environments
  • CCN resistance and useful levels of spot form net blotch resistance
  • Excellent grain size with high retention levels and low screenings.
  • Moderate hectolitre weight
  • Commodus CL has been accepted into the Barley Australia malt accreditation program with the earliest potential malt accreditation in March 2023

  • BUFF is a quick-maturing, white aleurone, acid soil tolerant variety
  • Ideally suited to acid soil/high aluminium environments
  • Broadly adapted and has good early vigour
  • Good net form net blotch resistance (MRMS-S)
  • BUFF has recently been accepted into the Barley Australia Malt Accreditation program with earliest possible accreditation in 2021
