Coorow Seeds’ wheat seed varieties are grown under a quality assurance program which involves certified growers, paddock inspections, seed is required to pass industry minimum purity, weed seed search and germination standards through an independent NATA accredited testing laboratory.

New season has started and for this season, we are excited to introduce to you four new wheat varities: Vixen (AH), Kinsei (ANW), Trojan (APWN) and Sheriff CL Plus (APW). They have significant improved yield and resistance to disease/insect.

Devil (AH/AHN) *New*
New Variety of wheat developed by Intergrain this year.
Key features:
Exceptional yield potential, very similar to Scepter
Quick – Mid Spring AH and AHN wheat in WA
Broadly adapted and excellent performance in InterGrain trials and NVT.
Good yellow spot resistance (MRMS) and good stripe rust (MR) resistance
Very good physical grain characteristics
Similar grain size to Scepter and hectolitre weights similar to Mace.

Havoc (APWN) *New*
RPB Havoc is the newest AH release for WA wheat growers from Pacific Seeds.
The variety, which is commercially available for the 2018 plant combines broad adaptation with a superior canopy in a high yielding package.
In trials, LRPB Havoc has shown a 2-5% yield increase on Mace over the last 4 years in WA
Havoc is a quick maturing variety which displays a trait of prioritising tillering rather than rushing in warmer winters.
LRPB Havoc was bred by LongReach Plant Breeders for adaptation specific to the West Australian Wheat Belt.

Havoc is based on Mace with similar yield stability and is well adapted to all areas of WA
AH classification in WA with a quick maturity for main season planting like Corack and Mace
Yield increase of 2-5% on Mace over the last 3 years in WA
Improved Powdery Mildew resistance (MS) over Mace to reduce disease build up in lower canopies

Kinsei (ANW) *New*
Key features:
High yielding, Slow Spring udon variety – ideal to maximise early sowing opportunities.
Slower maturing than CALINGIRI and similar to YITPI. 7-8% yield advantage (on average) compared to YITPI based on long-term NVT data
Good stripe rust resistance
KINSEI has good physical grain characteristics
Sprouting tolerance comparable to CALINGIRI.
Improved udon quality characteristics compared to ZEN and NINJA.

Vixen (AH) *New*
Vixen is the new Australia hard wheat (AH) recently released by Intergrain last year and is now available for purchase at Coorow Seeds this year.

Have similar yield potential to Scepter.
AH classification in WA.

Good grain size and short plant height.

Razor CL Plus (ASW) *New*
Key features:
Highest yielding Clearfield wheat variety.
Dereived from widely adapted variety Mace.
Early maturity, slightly quicker than Mace, similar to Corack.
Tolerant to Clearfield Intervix herbicide.

Very good physical grain package, with low screenings and high test weight.

Scepter Wheat
Derived from leading variety Mace, Scepter (RAC2182) shares a similar adaptation profile to Mace, but offers increased yield and improved stripe rust resistance (in SA, Vic and NSW). Scepter may also be suitable for wheat on wheat situations due to YLS and CCN resistance.

Grenade CL Plus
Grenade CL Plus is a mid season maturing Clearfield® variety best adapted to South Australian and Victorian growing conditions. Grenade CL Plus is closely related to Justica CL Plus, but offers improvements in test weight and CCN resistance, as well as AH quality. Grenade CL Plus demonstrates improved pre-harvest sprouting tolerance compared with Kord CL Plus.
