Hurricane Lentil and Jumbo 2 lentil continue to be the most popular choice for pulse/legume sale this season. Due to the drought over the East, there are not much stock for both varieties available. Because of that, customer who would like to grow lentil for the upcoming season are recommend to place the order early with us.

Lentils
Hurricane XT lentils
Hurricane XT is a small seeded red lentil build on the success of first herbicide tolerant lentil, PBA Herald XT. It incorporates the same improved telerance to some Group B herbicides, but with higher grain yields and improved agronomic characteristics.
Key Features:
Highest yielding small red lentil.
Herbicide tolerant to applied Imazethapyr, flumetsulam, sulfonylurea and Imidazolinone herbicides.
Mid maturity, broadly adapted with earlier flowering, improved vigour and increased plant height.

PBA Bolt lentil
PBA Bolt is medium sized grey seed red lentil with early maturity. This variety is best suited to areas where early maturity, salinity tolerance and erect growth for better yield and profit.

Early maturing, medium sized seed red lentil.
Highest yield under drought conditions
Moderate resistant to foliar and resistant to seed ascochyta blight.

Jumbo 2 Lentil
PBA Jumbo 2 lentil is a large seed red lentil with highest yielding potential compare to other lentil varieties in medium-rainfall growing zone. It has combined resistance to the major diseases of lentils in Australia, Ascochyta Blight and botrytis grey mould.

Faba beans
Fiesta VF
Fiesta VF – is a medium size faba (broad) bean that is still widely grown in southern and western region farming system as a replacement for Fiord, especially where chocolate spot was a risk. It is not suitable for region where ascochyta blight risk is high as this variety does not have improved resistance to such disease.
Key Features:
Early-mid flowering varities.
Plant height is similar to Farah, being taller than Nura.
Does not have resistance to ascochyta blight disease.

PBA Rana
PBA Rana represents a new grain quality category for Australian faba bean production and is not produced by any other major faba bean exporter. Its seed is larger than current faba bean varieties, and is considered to be of high quality by the major Egyptian market.
Key features:
Large, plump and light brown seed.
Vigorous plant with good stem strength. Mid-late flowering and mid maturity.
Improved resistance to chocolate spot, Ascochyta blight and foliar seed.
Improved tolerance to iron deficiency chlorosis.

PBA Samira
PBA Samira is a high yielding faba bean that has shown wide adaptation throughout Western Australia. Yield is generally greater than current varieties in all areas. PBA Samira has a good overall level of disease resistance. It is also less susceptible to chocolate spot and rust.

Medium sized seed, similar to Fiesta VF and Farah.
Vigorous plant with good stem strength.
Improved resistance to chocolate spot and rust compared to Fiesta VF and Farah, excellent Ascochyta Blight resistance.

Field Peas
Kaspa
Kaspa is a semi-leafless, high yielding field pea variety with medium height, slightly taller than Snowpeak. Most distinct characteristics of this variety including its pale pink flower pod shatter resistance. Kaspa also has excellent early vigour and dry matter production, making it a very good competitor with weeds.

Exceptionally high yielding semi-leafless, late flowering dun type field pea.
Fair lodging resistance at maturity and resistant to pod shattering.
High plant populations and early sowing.
Susceptible to Bacterial Blight.

PBA Gunyah
PBA Gunyah is an early flowering field pea with high yield potential. It is better adapted to low and medium rainfall climates than Kaspa. This variety is adapted to all cropping regions for field peas across the northern, central and southern cropping zones of Western Australia. For lower rainfall areas, PBA Twilight is more suitable option.

Higher yielding in low to medium rainfall zones
Early to mid flowering and early maturing.
Disease resistance similar to Kaspa.
